Our Story

Renewal Presbyterian Church was birthed in 2006 out of a mono-ethnic church in West Philadelphia (West Philly born and raised!), with a vision to be a multi-ethnic church for our city. Over the years, as people began gathering from across Philadelphia, Renewal has had the privilege of helping launch new congregations in the region.

In the fall of 2017, Renewal helped plant Renewal Presbyterian Church of the Main Line, which is now an independent church. In the fall of 2019, Renewal also launched a Center City campus, which has since grown into its own independent congregation, Renewal Presbyterian Church Center City.

Renewal is comprised largely of an age group that is increasingly missing in many churches across the American landscape. Our congregation includes college students, young professionals, and young families, along with a growing number of children and teens. Of course, all are welcome to visit and join!
