Town Hall:
We will have a town hall on April 21, 2024 at 1:30pm at our West Philly location (4633 Cedar Ave). Pizza lunch will be provided at 12:30pm until 1:20pm on the 2nd floor. Childcare will be provided and will begin at 1:00 PM and will continue until the end of the meeting.
North Philly Summer Missions:
We are partnering with Eighth Street PeaceMakers (ESPM) to run a one week summer camp for students from K-8 in North Philadelphia. The summer camp will be from July 7th-13th. We will serve alongside ESPM and other ministries to engage in education, service, and reflection. If you have a heart for summer missions, please fill out the Intake Form by Sunday April 21st. There is also a link to the recorded interest meeting in the intake form if you would like to listen! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Esther Kang, esther.kang01@gmail.com.
Young Life Teen Mom’s Camp:
There is a new service opportunity with a Christian organization called YoungLife that works with youth throughout the country. In Philly, there is a program specifically to support teen moms and share the gospel with them. Every year they have an awesome retreat for the moms and ask for volunteers from local churches to provide childcare for the duration of the retreat. Everything is paid for, they just ask that you come and care for the kids (infants to 3 year olds) while the moms can fully enjoy the retreat. There have been many beautiful testimonies and much fruit as a result of this program. The retreat itself is from August 4th-9th. If you’re interested, please email us at office@renewalchurch.org
Bethesda Project:
Bethesda Project is a nonprofit in Philadelphia that address homelessness by providing a home and safe environment where guests and residents can stabilize and regain their dignity and self-worth. Specifically, Renewal CC partners with Bethesda Project’s safe haven program for men, My Brothers’ House. We are looking for volunteers to prepare a meal to serve and eat together with our brothers at Bethesda.

Renewal Volleyball:
Our volleyball group has been going strong and growing! We would love for this to be an outreach opportunity, especially as many non-Renewal attendees have been joining us.
Location: Crane
Dates/Times: Every Weekend
Saturdays from 3-5pm

Serve With Us
We are looking to recruit more members! If you have a heart for global missions and would like to be a part of supporting and encouraging the missionaries of Renewal, this could be a great fit for you! We are looking for people to join our support groups for our missionaries, to help plan for our annual Missions Conference in November, and to join us for our monthly Missionary Prayer Breakfast. Please fill out this form to let us know what aspects you would be interested to participate in.
Communications Team
Good communication is vital to the health of any church and we’d like to prioritize that more here. If you have a background or interest in marketing or communications, we would love to have you help us evaluate and develop our communication plan. Prayer Ministry:
Prayer Ministry is a newly formed ministry with the mission to meet regularly as a church to seek God in humble dependence to shape our hearts, bless Renewal and Philadelphia, and for Kingdom come in and through our prayers. Wednesday Night Prayer meetings are open from 8-9pm for anyone to come have fellowship and pray; locations change on a weekly basis and will be shared in the weekly newsletter. If you are interested in serving by committing to an intercessory prayer team on behalf of the church and/or to lead, host, or organize prayer meetings, please contact Hannah Jo at CCPrayer@renewalchurch.org. We invite you to share your prayer requests via our website.
Youth Group
We are in need of new Youth Group teachers. This is a great way to come alongside the parents of our church and pour into the next generation and equip them to thrive in their faith. If you have any questions about this ministry or would like to help serve and teach our church’s middle and high schoolers, please reach out to Addison Frank at addisonfrank@renewalchurch.org.

Scripture Reading
We have members of our church read scripture for us each Sunday. Our rotation currently means each volunteer would read 2-3 times per year. If you are interested in reading for us please sign up here!

Pray With Us
Safe Families for Children
- Pray for God to equip staff and volunteers to navigate complex situations with grace, and to serve with joy, purpose and compassion.
- Pray for God to provide through recent grant applications to foundations and successful Golf Outing and Walk Run fundraisers.
- Pray for our clients, who are particularly struggling with substance abuse – that we would be able to help those working to maintain sobriety to have the strength and support they need and for those experiencing relapse to remain safe and get the help they need.
- Pray for all who call our office for help – help us to have discernment in who we’re able to help with our current capacity and help us to guide those we’re unable to help to other resources.
Coffee Hour
Everyone is invited to come to the Crane Center 1 hour early at 9:30am to enjoy a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, which will be made available outside the gym. Our hope is that this will provide a comfortable, inviting, and informal atmosphere for everyone to not only drink coffee but also interact with one another and form new friendships outside of the Community Group context. You are encouraged, but not required, to bring your own thermos to minimize the number of paper cups that need to be used.
DIACONATE CARE
If you have any felt needs (physical or spiritual), please contact the Renewal Diaconate (care@renewalchurch.org). One of our deacons or deaconesses will schedule a time to meet with you.
- We look to offer the compassion and love of Christ as we meet and pray with you.
- We will walk with you through a process that our Diaconate team has made to see how we can best help you.
- We serve alongside the community of members of Renewal and our leadership team of pastors, elders, and women’s council.
