Staff

Rev. Dwight Yoo, Senior Pastor

Dwight was born and raised in the greater Philadelphia area. He graduated with a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), and has been serving as the senior pastor of Renewal since 2009.

Dwight and his wife Paula are blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter: Aiden, Evan, Dylan, and Lilian (Lily). He enjoys finding new restaurants with his wife and playing in city sports leagues. Dwight and Paula are grateful to be ministering in the city they know so well and love.

Eunice Ko, Executive Director

Eunice was born right outside of Philadelphia, but due to her dad’s calling as a pastor and US Army chaplain, grew up moving often and residing across the United States, Korea, and Germany. She holds a BA in Urban Studies and Education from Columbia University. After some years of teaching, serving on a church planting team, and working as the director of operations and director of finance at a church, she pursued and received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. Her desire to walk alongside people with care and to witness the transformative power of the gospel in the midst of suffering led her to work in operations and counseling at Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF).

In the midst of the 2020 COVID pandemic, she married her funnier half, Seth Choi. They enjoy spending quality time with friends, venturing out to enjoy culinary delights, and engaging in various ministries together.

REV. Kyuboem Lee, Assistant Pastor

Kyuboem (Kyu) Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, then spent his teen years as a Missionary Kid in Nairobi, Kenya. He came to US as an international student, and graduated from Wheaton College with a BA in Biblical & Theological Studies, and from Westminster Theological Seminary with an MDiv and a DMin, Urban Mission emphasis. Kyu has lived, church planted, and ministered cross culturally in Philadelphia since 1993—7 years at Calvary Baptist Church, 11 years at Germantown Hope Community Church, and at Missio Seminary (formerly Biblical) as DMin Program Director and Associate Professor of Missiology since then. He edits the Journal of Urban Mission (http://jofum.com/), coaches church planters and re-missioning pastors with the V3 Movement and Iwa Collaborative, and serves as Leading Voice contributor at Missio Alliance. Kyu has been serving as Assistant Pastor at Renewal Presbyterian Church since January 2023. He has been married to Christe since 2001, and they live with their two sons, Amoz and Theo.

REV. Hansoo Jin, Assistant Pastor

Hansoo is a true Baltimorean, born in Baltimore and raised in and around the city. So he is and always will be an Oriole’s fan. But he could be persuaded to shift his allegiances in other sports. He enjoys food (eating and cooking), good fermented beverages, movies, and sports.

Hansoo was also born and raised in the Church, but has experienced seasons of doubt, faith, rebellion, and repentance or some combination of them at various times of his life. Through it all, he is learning to live in and pursue the Kingdom of God.

In 2011, God blessed him with his better half, Wana. Over time, God has added three children to their crew: Jubilee, Evangeline, and Kairos. Together, they love exploring the city and you can often find them at a museum, book store, or playground.
Justin Kim, Director of College Ministry

Justin was born and raised in/around Philadelphia. He graduated from Temple University with a BA in Sociology and from Westminster Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. Since he joined Renewal as a college freshman, he has served as a student-leader, praise team drummer, and pastoral intern. Currently, he is the Director of College Ministry. Justin and his wife, Pearl live just steps away from the Renewal West Philly church building.

Outside of ministry, Justin’s passions include music, drumming, NBA, outdoor activities, cooking, eating, playing board/video games and spending time with others.

Hannah Armbruster, West Philly Administrator

Hannah was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA (Lehigh Valley) and graduated from DeSales University with her degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught first grade for two years before having her son John, and since then has done admin work for Renewal. She is married to Ryan and together they enjoy playing and creating games, hosting friends and neighbors at their home, as well as leading/attending Bible studies. They have a big heart for missions and watching how God is moving around the world!

Mimi Ko, Center City Administrator

Mimi was raised in a small town in Delaware. Her journey led her through college in Baltimore and graduate school in Pittsburgh before finding her home in the greater Philadelphia area. She has been attending Renewal since 2008 and considers it a blessing to be able to serve the church through this role. She is a mother of three and finds joy spending time with loved ones, eating delicious food, and exploring new places with her family.

Soojung Kim, Center City Children's Ministry Director

Soojung was born in the Philadelphia area and graduated from Temple University with her bachelor in elementary education and Holy Family with her masters in ESOL education. She has been a teacher in the School District of Philadelphia for a little over 6 years. Soojung has been a member of Renewal since 2012 and has been serving children’s ministry at Renewal since 2014 and youth group at Renewal since 2019.

Soojung hopes to be a positive, constant to the children in urban area and believe that all children should be given the opportunity to be a child and learn through love and play. Fun facts that are not so fun about Soojung is that she loves plants, flowers, nature, and obviously children. Although she’s always been in Philadelphia, she has only recently become a “Philadelphia sports fan” and has been deeply feeling the pains and sorrows of being one.

Matthew 19:13-15 Let the Children Come to Me. Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.

Addison Frank, Pastoral Intern
Addison was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He graduated from Penn State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and is currently working on his M.Div at Reformed Theological Seminary. He currently works with Cru in Philadelphia at UPenn and USciences. Addison enjoys learning, watching and playing any sport, and laughing with friends.

Addison and his wife Emily live a block away from the West Philly church building and are loving the neighborhood! They both love finding good food, spending time with friends, and going to Phillies games.

Peter Musembi Ndaita, Pastoral Intern

Peter hails from a Christian family in Kenya, where he spent his formative years. His father serves as a pastor in Nairobi. He came to the U.S. to attend Westminster Theological Seminary
and currently works with Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) at UPenn. He has an abiding passion for all things soccer.
Peter and his wife, Sherehan, have made their home adjacent to Drexel University, where they cherish life with their two children.
