Welcome

Renewal Presbyterian Church
Center City

Welcome to Renewal Presbyterian Church! If you are new to Renewal, we would love to get to know you. Check out this page for some first steps you can take to getting plugged in. After service, please stop by the welcoming table or say hi to any of the pastors or volunteers!

Announcements

Communion Reminder:
Next Sunday, we will be taking the Lord’s Supper together. Please prepare your hearts as we remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Food Drive:
The diaconate is collecting non-perishable, single-serve food items to support the community in South Philadelphia. Suggested donations include soups, cereals, beans, pasta, rice, canned veggies, peanut butter, boxed juices, and fish in oil. Email us at diaconate@renewalcc.org if you have local pantry suggestions or if you or someone in our church needs support. In this season of need, we stand together as the family of God, sharing what He has given us so that no one goes hungry. Let’s give generously, joyfully, and in faith that God will provide through us.

Prayer Meetings:
Join us on Wednesday evenings from 8:00–9:00 PM as we gather to pray for our church and our city. For weekly prayer meeting locations, please contact Hannah Jo or Aidan George at prayer@renewalcc.org

Moms Group:
Renewal CC Moms Group is a safe space for moms to connect, learn, and grow together through prayer and biblical wisdom. We seek to strengthen our walk with God and nurture our families with Christ-centered love, grace, and purpose. We will be meeting every 3rd Saturday of the month, from 8-9:30 pm at the Franks home in Olde Kensington. Our next gathering will be Saturday, November 15.

Community Groups:
Community Groups are a great way to get plugged in here at Renewal Center City. If you are not yet part of a Community Group, we’d love for you to join. Sign up here! You can also stop by the Welcoming Table for more information or help getting connected.

Congregational Meeting:
Please save the date for our next congregational meeting on Sunday, December 7th at 1pm at the Four Points by Sheraton. During this meeting, we will open nominations for Elders, Diaconate, and the Women’s Council. We encourage everyone to take the next few weeks to prayerfully consider individuals you would like to nominate for these positions of service. RSVP here.

Renewal Volleyball:
Our volleyball group has been going strong and growing! We would love for this to be an outreach opportunity, especially as many non-Renewal attendees have been joining us. If you’d like to join us, please sign up using this form.

  • Location: Crane Chinatown (1001 Vine St)
  • Schedule:
    • First Saturday of each month • 3:00–5:00 PM
    • First Sunday of each month • 6:00–8:00 PM
    • All other Sundays • 4:30–6:30 PM

Serve With Us

Welcoming Team:
We are looking for more people to join our Welcoming Team! Our desire is to cultivate a warm and an inviting atmosphere, to make each person feel seen as they walk in through the doors. Please join us in sharing Christ’s love in this way and to welcome people into our church family. Please email us at renewalccwelcomingcommittee@gmail.com and/or reach out to David Lim, if you are interested or if you have any questions!

Missions Committee:
We are looking to recruit more members! If you have a heart for global missions and would like to be a part of supporting and encouraging the missionaries of Renewal, this could be a great fit for you! We are looking for people to join our support groups for our missionaries, to help plan for our annual Missions Conference in November, and to join us for our monthly Missionary Prayer Breakfast. Please email missions@renewalcc.org for more information!

Praise Ministry
If you’re interested in serving on our praise ministry team, including sound, please email praise@renewalcc.org for more information or speak to us after service!

Multimedia
We are in need of volunteers for the multimedia team. If you’re interested, please email mimiko@renewalcc.org.

Bethesda Project:
Renewal has been partnering with Bethesda My Brothers House, a nonprofit organization that provides a Safe Haven, emergency shelter, housing, and support services to the homeless community. We are currently seeking volunteers to serve lunch and share a meal alongside the residents at My Brother’s House. This opportunity takes place monthly, typically on the last Saturday of each month, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. If you have any questions, please reach out to Joel Choe or Jay Garcia at Bethesda@renewalcc.org. Sign up here!

DIACONATE CARE

If you have any felt needs (physical or spiritual), please contact the Renewal Diaconate (care@renewalcc.org). One of our deacons or deaconesses will schedule a time to meet with you.

  • We look to offer the compassion and love of Christ as we meet and pray with you.
  • We will walk with you through a process that our Diaconate team has made to see how we can best help you.
  • We serve alongside the community of members of Renewal and our leadership team of pastors, elders, and women’s council.

COFFEE HOUR

Everyone is invited to come to the Crane Center 1 hour early at 9:30am to enjoy a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, which will be made available outside the gym. Our hope is that this will provide a comfortable, inviting, and informal atmosphere for everyone to not only drink coffee but also interact with one another and form new friendships outside of the Community Group context. You are encouraged, but not required, to bring your own thermos to minimize the number of paper cups that need to be used.
